Hope win streak snapped by Olivet

A four-game winning streak for the Hope College men's basketball team ended with a 66-52 loss at The University of Olivet on Wednesday.

The Flying Dutchmen fell to 13-11 overall and 8-5 in MIAA play. 

Hope remains in third place in the MIAA standings, one game ahead of Olivet with one regular-season game remaining. The Flying Dutchmen already have clinched a first-round home game for next week's MIAA Tournament.

Olivet (9-15, 7-6 MIAA) outscored Hope, 33-20, during the second half.

Senior center Gabe Quillan (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS) topped the Flying Dutchmen with 22 points.

Sophomore forward Parker Hovey (Shelby, Michigan / Hart) added 10 points. 

Hope committed a season-high 22 turnovers and shot 35.8% from the field (19-53), including 11.8% from 3-point range (2-7).

Nathan Richardson topped Olivet with 23 points and four assists.

The Flying Dutchmen's next game is Saturday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. vs. Albion College at DeVos Fieldhouse.
